The Art of Collaboration
Photography is indeed a team sport, where creative talent on both sides of the lens comes together to maximize the potential of each photoshoot. One of the most meaningful collaborations I have been fortunate to cultivate is with Miae Nelson. I first met Miae at a photoshoot she had masterfully organized at the Hayward Executive Airport. From that initial encounter, our paths intertwined, leading to a partnership that has spanned dozens of projects. These joint efforts have allowed us to showcase her stunning art fashion jewelry in photoshoots ranging from the urban charm of San Francisco to the timeless elegance of Paris. Our collaborations have even graced the pages of trade magazines, a testament to our synergistic partnership.
Working with Miae Nelson has indeed been an extraordinary journey. I feel both privileged and honored to be a part of her vibrant creative family. Our ventures together have taken on various forms, each one a unique melding of our collective talents.
In our forthcoming projects, we aim to display her exquisite art fashion jewelry across a multitude of platforms and settings. From the serenity of outdoor locations that beautifully complement the aesthetic of Miae’s pieces, to meticulously curated studios where each element can be controlled to enhance the unique qualities of the jewelry. Moreover, the dynamic environment of the runway will also be a canvas for Miae’s creations. There’s a certain thrill to a model adorned with her pieces stepping onto the runway, the intricate details of the jewelry illuminated under the spotlight, captivating the audience with the stunning fusion of fashion and artistry.
The photographs below serve as a testament to our fruitful collaborations. Each snapshot captures a distinct moment from our projects, spotlighting Miae’s art fashion jewelry. From tranquil outdoor settings to the vibrant buzz of the runway, these images showcase the diverse environments where her pieces genuinely shine. As you peruse these photographs, you will witness the journey we’ve shared, the stories we’ve told, and the beauty we’ve been privileged to capture. I look forward to many more collaborative projects, continuing to feature Miae’s unique art fashion jewelry in this fascinating photographic journey.

Meet Miae Nelson
Born in Seoul, Korea, to a Korean mother and a Russian-German father, Miae Nelson’s journey to becoming an artist-designer was as serendipitous as unexpected. Initially, an avenue for personal healing following a serious leg injury, her foray into design began modestly with crafting gifts for friends. This innocent exploration soon evolved into a fiery passion for creating sustainable, green earth jewelry, a passion which swiftly catapulted her into the spotlight of San Francisco Fashion Week.

Miae’s jewelry became a canvas reflecting her globetrotting experiences, with her love for Paris and France taking center stage. Her encounters with the breathtaking works of world-renowned artists and her penchant for collecting antique and vintage jewelry served as strong influences. Her vast collection offered a goldmine of inspiration that she skillfully integrated into her unique jewelry designs.
Educationally, Miae studied Periodic Costume Design and art history at Brooks College and the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM). These academic ventures further fueled her creativity, winning her three prestigious awards and getting her work published over 60 times, with 10 cover features.
COVID-19 was a testing time for Miae, like many others, but she wielded her art as a beacon, guiding her through the pandemic. Producing some 40 photoshoots with her team, “MIAE NELSON PRESENTS,” she emerged stronger, driven by the unwavering spirit of creativity.
During the pandemic, Miae was bestowed the honor of being an international judge for an art competition in Dubai, Saudi Arabia. The event brought together over 100 local artists whose work was evaluated virtually by international judges, a process overseen by the Prince of Saudi Arabia himself.
Miae’s command of the French language paved the way for international collaborations with Paris-based photographers and models, hinting at an exciting Parisian chapter in her journey. Miae also produced two fashion shows for San Francisco Sustainable Fashion Week International just prior to the pandemic.
Although the challenges posed by COVID-19, Miae and her team found solace in their collective creative energy. Her jewelry even found a spotlight in the independent film, “Lust of Eyes,” directed by Sean Hilton. Engaging with the film industry thrilled Miae, sparking her ambition to be further involved in the cinematic world.
Miae’s upcoming ventures include collaborating with celebrated fashion designers and planning themed fashion shows in San Francisco. She cherishes the French influence in her work, infusing a touch of Parisian magic into her creations.
At the heart of Miae’s success lies her dedicated team. Their unyielding support and talent have been instrumental in transforming her dreams into reality, especially during the challenging times of the pandemic. To Miae, her team are not just collaborators, but also her “San Francisco Fashion Angels.”
In Miae Nelson’s story, we see a testament to the power of resilience, creativity, and team spirit. Her journey from a severe injury to a celebrated artist designer showcases her ability to transform personal adversity into creative triumph. As she boldly marches forward, Miae inspires others, proving that even unexpected setbacks can open doors to joyous and adventurous dreams.
