Having had the pleasure to collaborate with Cassandra Amor Wells on numerous occasions, it is an honor to dedicate this post to the multi-faceted talent that she is. Known as “Cassie Of All Trades,” her influence spans modeling, hairstyling, and educating others in the craft. Our collaborative journey has been enriched with magazine covers featuring Cassie as a model, as well as photoshoots where she worked her magic behind the scenes with hair and makeup. Most recently, I had the unique opportunity to photograph her as she delivered a masterclass at her salon, Bellarmine Salon on Santana Row.
The Camera Loves Cassie!
One facet of Cassie that perhaps doesn’t receive as much limelight but is equally riveting is her work as a model. Cassie isn’t just content with making others look their best; she herself graces the camera with a striking presence.
Cassie has appeared on various magazine covers, each time embodying a different character, emotion, or concept. Whether she is portraying vulnerability or showcasing strength, Cassie manages to convey a range of emotions that go beyond the visual aspect of the image. Her natural instinct for the camera, combined with her knowledge of aesthetics from her hairstyling background, make her a compelling figure in front of the lens.
Her modeling work isn’t just about the visual representation; it’s also an authentic portrayal of who she is. As the proud owner of Bellarmine Salon in Santana Row, Cassie wears many hats. One of her most notable accomplishments in hairstyling was being recognized as the best hairstylist in San Jose for 2023 by SOELEISH SAN FRANCISCO Magazine. This recognition serves as a testament to her exceptional creativity and unwavering dedication to her craft.
Cassie has also been recognized as a Top 100 finalist in the Shag/Mullet category of the One Shot Hair Awards by Behind The Chair. Such an accolade is an honor and a reflection of her commitment to hairstyling as an art form.
The Wolf Cut Vs. The Hush Cut
Beyond her Top 100 finalist recognition and Best Hairstylist award, Cassie has been featured in numerous articles that delve into her philosophy and expertise. Each of these honors and platforms contributes to her drive to continue honing her skills and to inspire others in the industry. She has offered deep insights into modern hairstyle trends like the Wolf Cut and the Hush Cut, each distinguished by specific techniques and aesthetics.
The Educator
In October 2023, Cassie organized a masterclass at her salon. Through this platform, she extends her role from a practitioner to an educator, sharing valuable techniques and insights. She acknowledges the “invaluable role mentors and teachers” have played in her journey and feels responsible for “ paying it forward.”
