A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of announcing the release of my first zine, titled “The Street Is My Studio.” This zine features a collection of photos I took in the streets of Melbourne during the pandemic, using the cityscape as a dynamic backdrop for my photoshoots.

While I do not consider myself a street photographer in the traditional sense, I found the streets of Melbourne to be an inspiring canvas that enhanced the storytelling aspect of my photoshoot collaborations. The vibrant energy captured during this time makes this zine especially meaningful to me.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has shared kind words about the zine and an even bigger thanks to those who purchased a copy. Your support means the world to me.
Today, I am excited to share some thrilling news: Ted Forbes has featured “The Street Is My Studio” in one of his videos. Ted Forbes, a photographer and renowned YouTube creator, has gained international acclaim with his channel, The Art of Photography, which boasts over 800,000 subscribers and 1,000 videos.
I have been following Ted’s work for quite some time and had the opportunity to attend one of his workshops. His insights have greatly influenced my approach to photography and inspired me to take the leap and publish my first zine. Seeing my zine featured on his channel is a moment of immense pride and honor. Something I never imagined when I was capturing these photos. It feels surreal. Thank you Ted.
You can check out Ted Forbes’ video featuring my zine. Ted’s channel is filled with incredible content that any photography enthusiast will love, so be sure to subscribe to stay updated with his insightful and inspiring videos!
From watching Ted’s videos and attending his workshop, one key takeaway that stands out to me is the importance of intent, storytelling, and conveying emotion in photography. Good gear can certainly enhance your work, but what truly matters is the story behind each shot and the sentiments it evokes.
So, whether you’re using your phone’s camera or a stand-alone camera, I encourage you to get out there today and capture that shot. Embrace the experience, learn from it, and keep creating.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.
