The Bay Area creative scene continues to flourish, and I’m thrilled to have my photography featured in the debut issue of COPIED Magazine by The Next Bay Area Runway. This inaugural issue highlights Drew Makes Music, a gifted guitarist and vocalist who’s been electrifying audiences with his blend of blues, grunge, and alternative classics. It’s a proud moment to see my work celebrating such an inspiring artist.
The Vibrant Journey of Drew Makes Music
Drew Makes Music, a San Jose native, grew up honing his craft, spending countless hours perfecting riffs inspired by the greats and discovering his unique sound. Today, his music is a mix of timeless rock classics and bold original compositions. Whether he’s delivering soulful solos or pouring raw emotion into his vocal covers, Drew has a knack for captivating audiences, old and new.
Beyond his solo career, Drew has collaborated with local talents, providing lead guitar for R&B sensation Acari and indie artist Vincent Aire. His dynamic performances and creative versatility made him a standout feature in The Next Bay Area Runway, where he seamlessly blended music and fashion.
The Creative Sparks of “RUN MY WAY”
I first met Drew during a photoshoot for the album cover of “RUN MY WAY,” a genre-blending track by @thekhaysie, featuring @cassieofalltrades, @djthickofficial, and Drew himself. This project brought together diverse musical talents, and capturing their creative synergy was an unforgettable experience.

The photoshoot was a lesson in creative simplicity. With a home studio setup, we aimed to let each artist’s individuality shine. The final album cover, designed by @jadasiarose, showcases CassieOfAllTrades as a puppeteer in a vibrant pink robe and luxe white hat, controlling strings attached to her co-artists. Drew, with his blue electric guitar, appears mid-solo, while DJ Thick and Khaysie add dynamic energy and emotion to the composition. The result? A bold and expressive visual that perfectly matches the song’s innovative spirit.
For me, the “RUN MY WAY” project was an inspiring photoshoot collaboration between music and visual art, and I couldn’t be happier with the final result. It’s an example of how photography can amplify the storytelling power of music.
