Vietnamese Fashion Meets Beverly Hills
SIXDO has a clear vision. The name blends “six”, representing six children of designer Do Manh Cuong adopted by his family, with “Do,” his family name. Vietnamese designer Do Manh Cuong creates minimalist Vietnamese fashion pieces that carry a couture spirit. He graduated with distinction from the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne and interned at Christian Dior before returning to Vietnam to launch his first labels.
Those Paris years taught him the discipline of precise cuts and the magic of refined textiles, lessons that echoed back when one of his dresses appeared on Emily in Paris. Seeing his work on the Netflix hit series must have felt like Paris applauding one of its own graduates, affirming that his craftsmanship and storytelling resonate far beyond the runway.
I had the pleasure of photographing two of Do Manh Cuong’s designs on Rodeo Drive, surrounded by luxury boutiques. The boulevard became a living backdrop for SIXDO’s rose‑inspired artistry. Each bloom honors the designer’s mother and celebrates strength wrapped in beauty. That spirit fills every frame from this Beverly Hills shoot.
The street glitters under California light. For a photographer it is a gift. Reflections bounce everywhere and lines stretch into perfect leading paths. I chose this backdrop to let SIXDO shine beside global labels and to show how these Vietnamese designs can own the spotlight in any fashion capital.
SIXDO Red Roses in Motion

Our first look is Ngan’s own head‑to‑toe red set from SIXDO. A sheer mesh top hugs the body. Two sculpted roses form the cups and they echo smaller roses that bloom down the wide‑leg trousers. Each petal is hand folded and every stitch is clean. The pants start high at the waist and drop in deep pleats that lengthen the leg. Minimal color meets dramatic texture.

We photographed this look when the sidewalks were still quiet and the light sat low and golden. Ngan posed against the metallic louvers of the Louis Vuitton façade. The horizontal bands acted like a graphic backdrop and caught soft reflections from a parked Rolls‑Royce across the street. Ngan raised a finger in a gentle hush. Her calm pose slowed the scene and invited you to study the craft.

SIXDO White Roses Sculpt Light

We moved a few steps to Via Rodeo for the second look from Ngan’s wardrobe. The white top is pure sculpture. Two oversized roses wrap the torso and create bold negative space. The lightweight waffle knit catches sun and shadow like marble at the Getty. A wrap skirt with an off‑center slit balances the volume. The silhouette feels fresh yet timeless. Pair it with minimal jewelry and let the fabric speak.

At the fountain, Ngan leaned back and laughed as water droplets cooled the morning air. We played with shutter speed to freeze a few gems of water in mid‑air. On the staircase, the curves of the garment echoed the curve of the wrought‑iron railing. A street violinist filled the alley with soft classical notes and added unexpected rhythm to each pose. When you place thoughtful design in an iconic location every angle becomes a story.

Designer Spotlight: Do Manh Cuong
Do Manh Cuong’s career began as a stylist for Elle Vietnam. He launched SIXDO in October 2020 to give Vietnamese families high‑quality ready‑to‑wear that feels international yet rooted in local culture. The rose motif has become his signature not only in gowns but also in daily pieces like crisp white shirts with subtle floral buttons. Cuong believes a single floral accent can replace heavy jewelry and still keep your look refined.
Every collection starts with fabric research. Cuong sources premium cotton poplin from Italy, silk organza from Japan, and responsibly produced wool from Australia. In his Ho Chi Minh City atelier skilled artisans hand‑finish seams and press every fold. That care matches his belief that longevity outshines fast trends. You invest once and wear for years.
SIXDO on the Global Stage
SIXDO is not only a Rodeo Drive visitor. The label travels globally:
- Spring Summer 2024 New York Fashion Week at Spring Studios. International debut with fifty looks on an S‑shaped runway that mirrored the map of Vietnam.
- Fall Winter 2024 Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week in Hà Nội. Opening night with the “Sóng Xanh” collection.
- Spring Summer 2025 Return to New York Fashion Week in New York City, welcomed back to the official schedule.
- Spring Summer 2025 Shanghai Fashion Week at Xintiandi. First mainland‑China show titled “The SIXDO Show SS25”.
The brand’s rise has also attracted international media coverage. Vogue has featured multiple SIXDO runway collections and applauded their modern yet culturally rooted aesthetic. These milestones prove that Vietnamese minimalism resonates from Manhattan to Shanghai. When you wear SIXDO you join that journey.
Ngan Brings the Story to Life
Ngan is more than a client. The looks you see belong to her personal SIXDO collection. She studies each garment before every pose, asks how the designer imagined movement, and then lets that idea flow through her body. Her precision helps you see cut and drape while her personality adds warmth. In red she offered quiet confidence. In white she mixed joy and elegance. Her connection to the brand made each shot feel personal.
Why This Story Matters to You
Fashion should travel. It should cross cultures and spark conversation. SIXDO proves that minimal design with thoughtful detail can command attention on one of the most famous shopping streets in the world. Rodeo Drive provided the stage. Ngan supplied emotion. Together they showed how Vietnamese creativity enriches the global style dialogue.
