Business Life Magazine Features Kisau Photography

Grateful to Business Life Magazine for featuring my work and the story behind Kisau Photography in the article, “Fashion Photographer Paul Tocatlian Builds Global Editorial Studio Through Story Driven Imagery.”

What I appreciated most about the article is that it felt like it really understood the why behind my work. I am always trying to make images that feel polished and intentional, but never at the expense of emotion or honesty. So when they wrote that my work “refuses to choose between aesthetic polish and emotional depth,” it genuinely resonated with me. The article also referenced my “through two lenses” philosophy, where “fashion narratives and human stories exist in the same frame,” and that is such a true reflection of how I approach photography.

I also appreciated that the feature looked beyond individual images and spoke to the larger vision for Kisau Photography. It highlighted the range of work we create, from model portfolio development and brand campaigns to editorial content and runway coverage, while also recognizing the incredible people who help shape it, including Hannah Do and Pia Gould. That mattered to me because photography has always been collaborative. The strongest work comes from shared energy, trust, and a collective belief in the story we are trying to tell.

I was especially glad to see the article describe my books as “long form visual narratives” that go beyond a traditional portfolio. That phrase stayed with me. I have always wanted the work to live as more than a set of strong individual frames. I want it to hold mood, sequence, memory, and something human that lingers a little longer.

Thank you again to Business Life Magazine for the feature.
